[English]

Objective: Given the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence technologies and the complexity of related skills, traditional digital literacy frameworks are no longer sufficient to address modern educational challenges. This situation highlights the need to develop an updated framework for digital literacy in the age of artificial intelligence. Accordingly, the present study aimed to propose a conceptual framework for AI-based digital literacy among faculty members within the emerging ecosystem of intelligent learning in higher education.
Method: This study employed a qualitative approach using the meta-synthesis method. The research population consisted of all published articles related to the topic in scientific databases. The sample was selected purposefully based on predetermined criteria and included 41 articles. Data analysis was conducted using the seven-step model of Sandelowski and Barroso (2007). To assess the reliability of the study, the kappa coefficient was used.
Results: The qualitative analysis led to the identification of 7 second-level themes, 20 first-level themes and 101 basic themes. The second-level organizing themes included: scientific understanding of artificial intelligence technologies, digital and technological skills in teaching and learning, critical evaluation of digital content, AI-driven research enhancement, information and data literacy, digital communication and collaboration, and digital safety.
Conclusions: The proposed framework provides a structured approach for rethinking digital literacy in the era of artificial intelligence. It offers practical guidance for educational institutions seeking to strengthen AI-related competencies and empower faculty members within intelligent learning environments.
