Students spend a lot of time in these media. Excessive use of the Internet by students and addiction to it is one of the factors that affects their academic, social and emotional performance. <br />Methods: The aim of current research was to study the relationship between family functioning and parenting styles with Internet addiction in female high school students in Diwaniyah, Iraq. The design of research was a descriptive-correlational in which 240 students were selected from 650 students using random sampling method in 2019. The Young's Internet Addiction, the McMaster et al Family Function and the Baumrind Parenting Inventories were used to gathering the data. <br />Findings: Multiple regression analysis revealed that the variables of family functioning were negative, permissive parenting style was positive and significant, and authoritarian and authoritative parenting styles were negative and significant were the ability to predict Internet addiction in students.<br />Conclusion: Developing and applying a prevention program are needed based on current research finding. زمینه و اهداف: دنیای امروز عصر اطلاعات، شبکه های اجتماعی و مجازی است. دانش آموزان زمان زیادی از زندگی خود را در این رسانه ها سپری می کنند. استفاده بیش از حد دانش آموزان از اینترنت واعتیاد به آن یکی از عواملی است که عملکرد تحصیلی، اجتماعی و عاطفی آنها را تحت تأثیر قرار می دهد. هدف مطالعه‌ی حاضر، بررسی رابطه بین کارکرد خانواد و سبک‌های تربیتی والدین با اعتیاد به اینترنت در دانش‌آموزان دختر مقطع متوسطه شهر دیوانیه کشورعراق بود.<br />روش ها: طرح پژوهش از نوع توصیفی – همبستگی بود که از بین تعداد 650 دانش‌آموز 240 نفر با استفاده از روش نمونه-گیری تصادفی در سال 1398 انتخاب شدند. از مقیاس‌های اعتیاد به اینترنت یانگ، کارکرد خانواد مک‌مستر و همکاران و مقیاس سبک‌های تربیتی والدین بامریند رای جمع‌آوری اطلاعات استفاده شد. <br />یافته ها: نتایج رگرسیون چندگانه نشان داد متغیرهای کارکرد خانواده به صورت منفی، سبک تربیتی سهل‌گیرانه به صورت مثبت و معنی‌دار و سبک‌های تربیتی مستبدانه و مقتدرانه والدین به صورت منفی‌ و معنی‌دار قادر به پیش‌بینی اعتیاد به اینترنت در دانش‌آموزان بودند. <br />نتیجه گیری پیشنهاد می‌شود که از نتایج پژوهش حاضر برای مداخلات درمانی و تدوین برنامه‌های پیش‌گیری از اعتیاد به اینترنت در دانش‌آموزان استفاده شود.
